Two nights ago I spent the night on the sofa again, courtesy of the almost one-year-old who is teething and needed company. We’ve been quite busy so I thought I’d give an update.
Junior is now a fully established Kindergardener, proving it was high time he switched. These days he’s most often the mail man, delivering packages with an old calculator, making us sign as he has seen us do. He’s using the loo, too, unless he forgets, and finally says thank you. All good, he couldn’t be a better kid if he tried, and luckily the Kindergarden crew agrees.
Hard to believe but Junioress turns one in less than three weeks. All she does these days is eat and smile, walk around the table and play the give-and-take game with sounds that resemble please and thanks. The smile will get you.
We spent a lovely weekend near my coast over my birthday, with my father being a surprise guest at my moms. Kind of like the old days. We walked at the coast, went into the water in Büsum, had fish-food and slept in an old farm.
On the flat, well, we’re moving in approx. 3 weeks. They are putting down the floor this week supposedly, for the second time, because the wood just wasn’t what we ordered. Aside from that, bathrooms are almost finished, the kitchen is supposed to come on the 19th and we are slowly but steadily deciding on furniture, a task we put off as long as possible, reverting to mm-paper only last week. The big trip to Ikea is behind us, quite successfull too, but with a slight scare in the end: They don’t tell you upstairs that they want to deliver ASAP, a week after shopping at most. So we were mentally already putting the new things in our living room, in the garage and in the kids’ room since the flat wouldn’t be ready when she said she’d turn seven blind eyes and offered a date one day after we’ll be getting the key. Phew.
Chris will give a presentation in Berlin on Friday and she can’t wait to get back to work on the peace report once we’ve moved. After the latest trade show work surge was done, I spent quite some time back on online jobs and last week at conferences. In addition, as you may have heard me boast, the English podcast has cracked the 5.000 subscriber mark and has averaged 150.000+ views over the last three months. Not too shabby 😉
