Just finished listening to the HangUp Gang this morning (for wondering readers: I am refering to an episode of the Gillmor Gang) and boy was Calacanis in Zen mode that Thursday. As Steve pointed out, the first segment is postmodern at its core, but the following parts make up for it which makes it too killer shows in a row. It almost like the closing scene of The Matrix in which Neo finally sees beyond the code and everything else slows down. The good thing is that Jason and Steve are talking a lot so the Attention/Gesture movement should be profiting immensely.
Listening to Steve speculating on Microsofts immanent (I’d say six months is almost like tomorrow) step into the attention business and comparing that to the guys on my own podcast discuss trackback spam – if everything just falls together and the attention model were indeed supported by the GYM cartell there’d be light at the end of the darkness of over-information. I said it before (taking Dave Winer’s words) that I believe that people would have nothing against advertising if it were according to their needs.
It is amazing how quick adaption can happen. I am not a sneezer in Seth Godin’s sense, I am just a user who points out stuff that works for him. However, seeing how my wife is much more active in promoting e.g. skype or other services and how easy to "get" the new services are, gestures are getting very powerful. Yesterdays posterchild will be on tomorrows dump yard if not cared enough about.
And to come back to Gillmor for a final thought, I am guessing that negative gestures will have a higher value than positive ones.

It was a great final show… we did our best to wrap up gracefully and kept our dignity.

Seems like it, the new show doesn’t show up on iTunes yet.
