Back from vacation the first thing Björn does is to make me work for him. “List your top five social media tools”.
1. Performancing for Flock. Sounds weird, right? Since one of the features of Flock is a blogging option. When I finally get around to write more about Flock I’ll explain. For the moment, performancing does everything I need for blogging, within the browser.
2. NetNewsWire. The only time I leave my browser. And if the Google Browser Sync extension would sync bookmarks, I’d get rid of that, too. I live in my browser.
3. Mabber. Therefore I need chat. Mabber let’s me chat through five clients and I can use it on my mobile. You might wonder why you’d need that, but sometimes you just do.
4. Skype. Unfortunately, Skype’s API doesn’t support much, YET. And I use it for business, too. SkypeOut, Voicemail, all set up.
5. Gmail/Gcalendar/Gchat. Certainly makes me spend more time with the G-Brand.
Noteworthy. Sure, I use Technorati, Google Trends (though that’s not really helpful with smaller brands), del.icio.us (which integrates very nicely with Flock), Feedburner and TypePad. Qype I am checking out as well, though the city I live in is so small, I don’t need Qype, I just go to the post office.

Interesting Neville, many of the repondends mention Netvibes, maybe I should try that out again…
@Björn: I am a registered user (and claimed the bellobene stores of course), going to the post office for the dirt is of course 1.0, but first of all, 1.0 is kind of neat and you need to preserve the knowledge of the elderly. Secondly, in my 2,000 people village is not much going on, apart from 1 post office, 2 newspaper stands, one Edeka, 3 pharmacies and 5 hair salons. In this scenario of 1.0 I think 1.0 solutions are the way to go. When it comes to Heidelberg, it’s a different story…
