Meanwhile, a lot of people seem to have the same opinion about the dull Earthlink radio spot in the beginning of the Gillmor Gang. I’m pretty glad about that, hoping that this user feeling will reach advertisers. Why?
Radio advertising is appallinly stupid these days. I feel insulted. I am not kidding. Do they really think, I’ll buy their product after listening to their crappy "message"?
I am waiting for companies to bring me relexation in the morning while I shave, not their noise and music and ductus which hasn’t change in the last 10 years. I am waiting for someone to do something clever, like "bringing me" 30 seconds of silence or an interesting little anecdote.
Well, the sad but good news is, it could be worse. Lately, I am watching some TV-channels in their Austrian or Swiss edition (satellite issues) and the ads shown there are even worse. The question I always ask myself is who signs off on these spots? Do these people really think their customers are so stupid that they need even dumber spots to reach them? I don’t buy it.
