To start things off, I will score two cheap trackbacks, one from Jason who is bound for Asia and one from Shel who is already in Hawaii. The reason being of course that on Monday I’ll fly to Tel Aviv to join my wife for two long awaited weeks of vacation. I hope to squeeze in an update once in a while.
But I can’t leave without sharing an idea. As you can see from the logo in the right sidebar I have been thinking about AttentionTrust, even switching to a new browser to get involved.
I was inspired by a post I read on Jeff Jarvis’s blog and an argument chain from Jon Udell on a recent episode of the Gillmor Gang:
The liquor store guy trusts the state that you are over 21.
During the Gillmor Gang show was a lot of talk about digital ID and such, but what can we do until there is a technical and widespread solution? Where can we find the biggest trust community on the web at the moment?
eBay. It is quite obvious:
Everybody knows this, but as the number of feedbacks changes you’d have to change the picture. How about this:
Add this link:
<a href=’http://feedback.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=ENTERYOUREBAYUSERNAMEHERE&ssPageName=STRK:ME:UFS’>
</a>
Put the button on your site and you have another layer of transparency and – with the proper eBay feedback – another layer of trust.
Would you trust me? Try it:
Technorati: attentiontrust, trust, ebay
