Pitch for G’day World
More on podcasting. One of the first podcasts I ever listened to was G’day World from The Podcast Network. I don’t listen to every single episode but many. I am amazed that two recent episodes didn’t get more blogosphere ink yet. In #140 Ewan Spence (whom I had the pleasure of chatting with briefly on the Podcastday, totally nice guy) talks to Weblogs, Inc’s/Netscape’s/AOL’s own Jason Calacanis, about Jason’s offer to Amanda Congdon, running Netscape and his plans (need, actually) to get to a higher rank within AOL. Great stuff, have a listen.
I also recommend #141 in which Cameron Reilly talks about running a start-up. Funding or non-funding, troubles, sleepness nights and motivations. He also talks about his motivation, the question “why do I blog/podcast”.
“I almost feel an obligation to share thoughts, that’s how we learn, how we evolve.”
I like that. He also jokes about dinner parties, where the chatter is often, “don’t talk about politics, don’t talk about religion.” He goes on,
“not talk about that? What are we going to talk about, weekend football results?
Grow some fucking brains. I’d rather read a book then.”
A man to my liking…

Sweet tooth fun
So youtube-resembling services in German cannot only be found at sevenload but also at myvideo.de, which looks strikingly similar to youtube…Great video though, reminding me a bit of this one cinema ad for BILD-Zeitung.

Be a sponge, watch and learn. Notizen aus der Provinz links to a great movie which shows off the graphics and intellectual possibilities of Second Life.
