Cat content?

Many strategies we use imitate animals, just think of martial arts or design, many of Luigi Colani’s solutions for cars, airplanes etc. stem from adaption of animal behaviour. Likewise, the animal kingdom serves as inspiration for modern communication: networks (spiders), bats…

I recently was witness to a much more direct example of communication, one which should be found more often among  humans I think because it not only makes us human but also authentic.

The cats of the household were meowing quite persistently and neither food and water nor the litterbox and stroking were the issue. Simply, a request for cat nip/cat grass was put in. It was a cry for help with something the cats couldn’t handle on their own. And a very high-profile issue it was, if you remember cats being very clean animals and vomiting on the grandfather chair is not something they are proud of.

The same analogy could be applied to humans; however, in the business world a cry for help is often interpreted as a sign of weakness. One rather tries to keep the facade as long as possible. The bad news is of course that most people reach their bounderies at one point or the other which is when the shit hits the fan and the vomiting begins.

The moral: Become a student of the Way of the Cat, ask for help in time and when you do not receive any right away, keep on meowing…
